According to his father, Ben Blake, five-year-old Beau Blake

has survived despite being bit and dragged into a pool by a three-meter python.

He said that the python emerged as Beau was playing by

the pool at the family's Byron Bay residence and wrapped

its jaws around the young boy's ankle. The

snake then pulled Beau into the swimming pool.

The snake was "sitting there waiting for anything 

 to come along," the boy's father told the radio station.
